Chua Huap Huat Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated in 1969. Since its humble beginning, CHH has been involving in the 'Coffee and Tea Dust' business, bearing the 'Apollo' trademark. Due to its special aromas and richness, the 'Apollo Coffee' quickly found its supporters and was popular among the coffee shops in the southern region of Malaysia. In 1979, sensing its competitive edge of locating at a fishing village, and the immense business potentials, CHH branched out to produce the Shrimp Pastes (aka Belacan Cakes) and have since established its prominence and a remarkable market share in the southern states of Malaysia.
During the 90's the company oversaw a expansion which resulted its plant size to be increased by 3 folds to cope with increasing demands. In 2000, to keep abreast with the market trends, CHH introduced the individually packed Instant Coffee Mixes.
All of CHH's coffee powder and mixes came under the 'Apollo' brand including 'BarlieCafe', while 'Tehji' became the stapled brand for their tea dust. As for the Belacan Cakes, a variety of brands were created to better suit the Malay's demographical needs (being its targeted market). These brands include: 'Cap Ketam', 'Cap Udang Putih' and 'Cap Beca'. All of CHH products are certified Halal.

Currently products from CHH especially the 'Apollo' coffee are distributed and popular among the retailers in the state of Johor. There are some deliveries made to Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley region, but the distribution of CHH products remain restricted there. The company wishes to expand and extend its market to cover the whole of Malaysia, especially among the Malay populated states.
The best way of doing this, according to CHH's management, is to launch a new products that will capture consumers' fancies, while still tasting great. Hence the creation of 'BarlieCafe'.
